Live & Learn
Activities outside the classroom
Not only will we engage in lectures but we will also take part in other activities to help further deepen our faith.
Other essential elements of your DTS lecture phase:
Worship
You’ll have regular times of worship in your DTS, as well as with the larger YWAM Global Gateway community.
Prayer & Intercession
In your DTS we will regularly gather together to pray, to seek after God and hear what he has to say regarding the nations, people groups, situations and more.
One-on-One Discipleship
Each student will meet regularly with a DTS staff member, giving you an opportunity to further process what God is doing, to receive prayer and much more.
Work Duties
In our community, everyone, staff and student, lends a hand to keep our community functioning. This time is referred to as “work duty” where we either serve in the kitchen, help with administration, work on property upkeep, and anywhere else there is a need and where one's skills fit.
International Community
At YWAM Global Gateway, we are a interdenominational, multicultural, multigenerational community where we live together, learn together and serve together.
Small Group
Once a week we get together purposefully in a time called “small groups” where we discuss and process the lecture topic of that week.
Assignments & Projects
Book reports and weekly journals are given to help you further learn and process what God is doing in your life.
Evangelism
As a community, we regularly set aside time to reach out to the city of Oliver - the mission field is at our doorstep - bringing hope to those in need.
Exercise, Fun & Adventures
From weekly group exercise times to hiking, games night, BBQ’s, sport and games, and more, we love to spend time together and have fun!

NIKO “Outdoor Adventure, Leadership Training Program”
The word Niko means to conquer, to overcome, or to persevere till the end.
For 4-5 days, you will spend your time in the outdoors, spending time with God, growing together as a team and in your leadership skills while pushing yourself beyond limits that you never thought possible.
Leadership: Understand our influence. Leadership is not about who is smarter or tougher, but about the qualities we all have or can work on.
Teamwork: Everything we do or don't do affects somebody else. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Phil. 2:4
Surrender: The laying down of my will for God's will. When I embrace God's will with mine, then He can do what He wants.
Servanthood: Servanthood is the outward expression of inward surrender. Service is action born out of motive.

Make Him known
Phase 2.
The Outreach Phase
After the Lecture phase is complete we then move into our Second and final stage of DTS called Outreach.
Outreach is a time where we take everything we have learned and put it into action. Here is where we get to serve the nations and share the word of God.
For 10 weeks one will have a cross-cultural experience where we will be in Senegal (Africa) and Mexico (America). We will be involved with a variety of different ministries: From Evangelizing and Discipleship to Drama, Youth and children’s ministry, worship, practical service and more. Teams regularly partner with local churches and YWAM ministries to strengthen their ministry and provide for follow up discipleship.
Your final week will be spent back in Oliver, de-briefing and being equipped to continue with everything that God has done in your life over the 22 weeks.
